FACE TO FACE SO VITAMIN DEPRESSION

Depression is a mental health condition that has undermined the impact overall health if not addressed.

When you feel depressed, take a walk with a friend or a loved one can be a cure. It is more effective at treating depression than talking on the phone or exchanging messages in the media. This is evident from the study at Oregon Health & Science University.

People who gather regularly with family and friends, have a risk of 50 per cent less depression than those who rarely do direct face to face contact. According to a report published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society Monday this study to compare how different types of social contacts affect our mental health.

Author of the study Dr. Alan Teo, revealed that the call and send the message does not seem to have the same effect as a direct face to face communication. Dr Teo also a professor of psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University and the Portland VA core researcher in the Health Care System.

We see the effects of doses with direct contact. The more face-to-face, the lower levels of depression, said Dr. Teo quoted today.com, Wednesday (10/21/2015) afternoon.

But the point is there is no substitute for face-to-face contact, which acts as a vitamin to prevent depression, he concluded.

The researchers analyzed data on more than 11,000 adults in the United States, which is aged 50 years and above. They participate as a national representative of Univestitas Michigan, a continuation of the study of the Retirement and Health. This study collected, among other information, the frequency of the calling and writing for social contact.
